I have very few specific memories of school but I do have one about him which came to mind after I saw you the other day. He was very kind to me. I found sciences very hard and was pretty lazy about it and failed my physics O level. However, he sat me down, basically wouldn’t take no for an answer, and coached me through my retake with some revision sessions. I think even then, as a largely unappreciative teenager, I knew that he was going out of his way to help me. A lot of effort for one kid and I remember how happy he was for me when I got my ‘C’. A great teacher and a kind man. Anyway, a deeply sad time and I am thinking of you and him.
